Toxicological Effects of Fluoxetine on Behavior and Plasma Levels in Pimephales promelas
Due to the increase in antidepressant prescriptions, pharmaceuticals are increasingly prevalent in aquatic environments and have been the focus of ongoing scientific research. Our study aims to investigate a connection between the plasma levels in Pimephales promelas (Fathead Minnows) and humans, and the effects that it may have on the behavior of both. To address this hypothesis, we exposed P. promelas at varying concentrations, both above and below environmental levels, and recorded the behavior.
